Thank you, FACT fans, for a successful Fund-a-Farmer Party!

What a month it is has been at FACT between our Fund-a-Farmer Party in Chicago and our first ever online auction! While the dust is starting to settle, we have some very good news to share. Our 4th Annual Fund-a-Farmer Party was a huge success, thanks to the participation and generosity of our supporters. We raised nearly $5,400 – all of which will directly fund grants for deserving humane farmers. We couldn’t be happier!

All of us here at FACT would like to thank everyone who celebrated with us last week. We would also like to thank all those who participated in our first ever online auction. It is wonderful to see our supporters from all across the country give so generously to financially support future Fund-a-Farmer grantees. Many thanks to our guest farmer Carole Morison, Uncommon Ground, The Lantern Kickers for providing live bluegrass music, our volunteers, and all of the companies who donated to our event!

Rich&Carole

Carole Morison of Bird’s Eye View Farm in Maryland, one of our 2014 Fund-a-Farmer grant recipients, presented at the event. Carole spoke about her transition from an industrial poultry operation to a humane egg farm. Raising chickens in more space, with cleaner feed, fresh air, sunshine, and fewer unnecessary antibiotics has made her, her customers, and her chickens happier and healthier. Economically, Carole’s situation has improved. She has control over her own farm, and demand from Whole Foods for her eggs surpasses what she can fulfill. You are part of that story. (Photo of Carole above with FACT’s Executive Director, Rich Wood.)

We have plans to grow the Fund-a-Farmer Project in the coming years, and that would not be possible without the dedication of our supporters. You are a champion of changing our food system. Because of your partnership with FACT, you and many others like you have access to safer and more humane choices every day. Even though the Fund-a-Farmer Party has ended, your support for humane farmers doesn’t have to end!
